Among Greenery

It’s been uncomfortably hot lately and I know it’s only going to get hotter as it gets closer and closer to summer. Fortunately, it seems like we’re going to get some respite for a week or so with cooler weather. The issue, present already, whether it be hot or cool are the mosquitoes.

Recently, on a hot day, I got bit like crazy in a place where I wasn’t expecting to get bit. The itchiness was bad. These creatures are vicious, I tell you. And it seems like this is the year where mosquitoes are going to be on their A game. (I learned this after googling the mosquito condition after itching around like a wild hyena.)

So, if mosquito season is going to be the nastiest it has ever been, I might just have to enjoy what I can when I can because I might be opting to avoid peak mosquito season. That or I’ll really have to get into a routine to prevent mosquitoes from coming near me…

Any place that has greenery is bound to have mosquitoes. But the place I got bit at most recently was actually inside an open air place that wasn’t well lit, which got me to learn how much mosquitoes actually thrive in such places. There’s a reason why they say these buggers are most active at dusk and dawn. Those are all times when it isn’t scorching hot! So, even if you need relief from the heat, avoid seeking shelter where mosquitoes happen to also be, hidden away from your eyes.

That said, I decided it was best for me to be in the great outdoors before peak mosquito season and crazy summer weather arrives.
