Kangnam, the restaurant
I of course didn’t pay for valet as 1) I’m too much of a cheapskate to pay for such a novelty/privilege and 2) I managed to get a parking spot in the restaurant’s non-valet lot.
I’m sure valet parking would’ve come in handy during rush hour but fortunately for me, I wasn’t there during rush hour!
It’s a pretty big restaurant. And the interior was pretty nice. It’s not a hole in the wall place. They even have a patio however when I was there, it seems like they were in the process of renovating/fixing their patio.
In regards to their food, I had only ordered one item (udon noodle soup) so I suppose I can’t speak as much as I’d like to about their food…
What I can say though, is that unlike many other Korean restaurants, they actually have vegetarian options in their menu. Based on my own order and from what I saw in other customers’ orders, they give good portions of food.
What I wasn’t too crazy about Kangnam was how my bowl arrived with black “stuff” on it. It appeared dirty but I wanted to give the place the benefit of the doubt that they perhaps use black cloths to wipe their bowls dry. (If this was the case, great, but a bad idea nonetheless.) The plastic glass I had happened to be chipped on top and that turned me off a bit. Not a big deal because I figured such a glass would have experienced wear and tear from constantly being cleaned by a machine. I’d be lying if I said it didn’t bug me though.
Although most of the customers were older Koreans, it’s safe to say that this is a family friendly restaurant.
