Otome Experience at Anime Expo 2019

If you read my previous post, you already know that I only had the opportunity to attend Anime Expo 2019 for one day. I thus was unable to see and do all things otome but allow me to share what I managed to get done anyway.

NTT Solmare Corp (Shall we date?), cybird and Voltage Otome Romance were present at AX 2019. Yes, I did say Voltage Otome Romance. (They didn’t hold a booth the year prior but did so this year!)

Shall We Date? booth at Anime Expo 2018

Shall We Date? BoothThe first booth I visited at Anime Expo 2018 inside the Exhibition Hall was NTT Solmare Corporation’s Shall We Date? booth. I am not joking when I tell you that I made a beeline for their booth. lol The reason I made a beeline for their booth had to do with me wanting a bag from them and bag I got but not without some patience. I cannot tell you how worried I got while “waiting” for a bag. I say “worry” because I knew that if they were to run out of bags, I wouldn’t have gotten one. (Cries. Lol)

    Anime Expo 2017: About Day 3 & 4

    Blue Spring Ride

On day 3 of Anime Expo 2017, I had sweated my way to the JW Marriot to watch Natsume’s Book of Friends only to learn about 5 minutes before the showing (from an employee/volunteer) that they weren’t able to get a hold of it and thus won’t be able to show it… Can we say wtf? There wasn’t a lot of people in the video room to begin with but everyone present was silent. They all were having a wtf moment. I obviously was bummed out since I really wanted to see Natsume’s Book of Friends. Oh well, right?

Instead of Natsume’s Book of Friends, AX played Blue Spring Ride for us. I can’t tell you how close I was to leaving. I’m glad to have stuck around though because I found myself liking Blue Spring Ride. I think I liked it because I was able to somehow relate to the main female character. It also helped how the main male character’s voice was nice… Like, you make me melt type of nice. Lol (If I could fall in love with a voice, it’d be this particular voice actor ‘s voice. Lol)

After three episodes of Blue Spring Ride, the room got cleared and it was time for me to get some grub.

Anime Expo 2017: All About Day 2

    NTT Solmare Corp bag

This is a special blog entry that details my Anime Expo 2017 experience on day 2. I cover the following topics in this order:

    • Welcome to the Ballroom
    • We are X: The X Japan Documentary
    • Shall We Date? Booth Experience
    • Losing my Kabe-don Virginity to Hiroto
    • Gintama hauls

Please feel free to scroll to the section you’re most interested in but I of course think it’d be best if you read my entire entry. 😉 Happy reading!

I had purchased a 4 day pass for Anime Expo 2017 with the determination to attend AX all four days. That didn’t happen, unfortunately since I didn’t attend day 1. And while this may come across as a bummer, it was actually a good thing I wasn’t present for day 1 since day 1 was only about lines, lines and well, more lines. My friend/coworker was actually waiting in line for four hours just to obtain her badge. Can we say what!?! Yeah, so not cool. So, I’m glad I wasn’t there on day 1 to be part of that hot mess.

Anyway, enough on day 1. Let’s talk about something more exciting: day 2 at AX 2017. Unlike my first time experience with AX back in 2015, I came quite prepared to conquer this time around. I actually knew what I wanted to do. (That AX 2017 app was helpful in planning out my own AX agenda.) And I got to do what I wanted to do. For the most part anyway.

The first thing I did after getting my badge and going through an entrance line was head over to the main events hall. Didn’t know where the heck it was but I somehow figured it out with the map, thankfully.

The otome side to Anime Expo 2015

    Voltage MFWP at AX15
Since my interest in attending Anime Expo came about from playing otome games, allow me to begin this post with Voltage related photos from Anime Expo 2015. The Voltage booth was based off the otome game, My Forged Wedding/My Forged Wedding Party. The booth was super girly and very cute. There was also a chapel where you can take a photo(s) with models, who I guess were supposed to be characters from My Forged Wedding Party. I know Las Vegas receives a lot of hype, but seriously now, where else can you get “married” with two guys in one day? Move over Vegas, because what happens in AX, stays in AX. (I hope that didn’t come off too lame… LOL)
