Itasha Cars at Anime Days

Away from the hustle and bustle of Anime Days was an area on the “sea level” where you see itasha cars. What are itasha cars? They’re basically “anime” cars since itasha cars feature at least one anime character. The more accurate definition is something along the lines of “cringey” looking cars since they’re cars that stand out and depending on what’s your cup of tea, they may indeed be “cringey” for you to look at. So, were the itasha cars here cringey?

First, let’s just say that there weren’t that many itasha cars available for viewing in the first place. I honestly thought I’d get to see many itasha cars but there were only about six cars or so on display. I wanted to see at least twenty itasha cars. But who knows? Maybe there were more cars on display prior to my arrival. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were more cars on display but the owners of the cars had to leave for a job or personal errand.

Regardless, I’m glad I got to see these itasha cars. Despite my earlier definition of itasha cars being “anime” cars, I want to say that these cars almost always feature an anime character(s) that’s female.

So, I can’t tell you how pleasantly surprised I was to see an itasha car with anime men. Yes, anime men. Five men were featured on this itasha car. I think the car was named, “Husbando Hunter”. It could have been the car owner’s alias for all I know, though. LOL

I LOVED this car. I loved it because it wasn’t the usual itasha car.

I did catch a guy laughing at the car and while I get why he laughed, what is so wrong with having anime men featured on a car? And in this manner, specifically? (Refer to the photo but in summation, half naked and supposedly ready to go on some type of a drive. Heh) Why is it ok or “normalized” for anime girls of various shapes and sizes to be on itasha cars?

In this day and age, I guess we can’t assume the car owner’s gender but she(?) is a husbando hunter and this car was a piece of art (and meat). Yes, I can’t get over how great it is to come across an itasha car like this. Obviously, this was my favorite itasha car and the best itasha car I’ve seen so far. I admit that it may be a bit suggestive but if guys can get a pass with an itasha car that has an anime girl that’s abnormally well endowed, well, this itasha car should pass with flying colors, too.

Also, the guys on the front hood are all tatted up, showing their affiliation (loyalty) with “Husbando Hunter”. LOL And for anyone else that wants to laugh at the car, I need to remind you that any of the three anime guys can easily whoop your behind in the 2D world. LOL Seriously…

Just as I was heavily fascinated with this itasha car, another person was fascinated with another one which happened to fit in perfectly well with the ambiance of the parking area.

Driving an itasha car has never crossed my mind. I always felt these types of cars were reserved for event promos. (Think Anime Expo events.) However, after seeing this specific itasha car, I have second thoughts. I seriously wouldn’t mind driving such a car around. It’s fun and unique yet at the same time, maybe you’d garner unnecessary and unwanted attention from strangers. And it’s this that makes me say it’d be better to “itasha” the inside of the car instead, if that even makes sense.

After seeing these cars, would you want to transform your car into an itasha car? Would you drive an itasha car on a daily basis? Let me know!
