The Red Cup from Starbucks
Sometimes, it’s the smallest of things that bring a smile to our faces. Not long ago, I was able to get hold of a Starbucks red cup. I know that some people scoff at the “red cup” frenzy but I see it as a “gift” to yourself. Obviously, it’s a gift with strings attached in that you can only get the “red cup” if you purchase a holiday drink, while the cups are still available.
I don’t know how expensive a small holiday drink costs in other states, but in the golden state, it’s close to a whopping $6. It’s here that I can totally understand why people would scoff and roll their eyes at those that go bonkers for the annual red cup at Starbucks.
It seems like it’s been a thing that Starbucks has been doing for a long while already, however yours truly here only got in on the tradition later than earlier and I’m loving the tradition. I love it simply because it brings forth a small amount of joy into your day. Some collect the cups. Others use it as a personal tumbler. Frequent connoisseurs of Starbucks on the other hand probably own a better Starbucks branded tumbler or flask and can get a five cent discount with their usual tumbler/flask or switch it up temporarily for the seasons by using the red cup “giveaway”.
If you intend on trying a holiday drink anyway, there’s no reason to not enjoy the perk of getting a red cup.
