Songkran at Wat Thai of Los Angeles

With Thai Town’s Songkran Festival canceled, you’re left with attending temple events only. Out of all the options available, I decided I’d attend the Thai New Year (Songkran) Festival held at Wat Thai of Los Angeles. The event is held for two days straight but you can pick and choose which day you prefer to attend or just attend both days if you can!

    Sankranta Festival

The second annual Sankranta Festival held at Long Beach City College was supposed to start at 8 am. I should’ve known that it wouldn’t actually start at 8 am because most Southeast Asians just don’t start anything on time. When I got there, they were still preparing for the event. I suppose with me being one of the early birds present, I could have easily gone around booths to get free totes and whatnot but in the end of it all, I ended up just not bothering to do so.

    Canceled Again: Songkran Festival

A Thai New Year festival (Songkran) that I’ve been looking forward to attending in 2024 especially after not being able to attend any Lunar New Year events this year is canceled. Why? I want answers especially when it was canceled in 2023 as well.

    Anime Days

Not long ago, I attended Anime Days, which was held at STC Gardenwalk in Anaheim. If STC Gardenwalk sounds familiar to you, it’s probably because it was the location for the Japanese Festival that I decided to skip out on. It was a free event featuring various vendors, cosplayers, a maid cafe, itasha cars and more.

    Itasha Cars at Anime Days

Away from the hustle and bustle of Anime Days was an area on the “sea level” where you see itasha cars. What are itasha cars? They’re basically “anime” cars since itasha cars feature at least one anime character. The more accurate definition is something along the lines of “cringey” looking cars since they’re cars that stand out and depending on what’s your cup of tea, they may indeed be “cringey” for you to look at. So, were the itasha cars here cringey?
