Peacock Day at the Arboretum
Peacock Day at the Los Angeles County Arboretum felt like Spring. It was sunny and the peacocks were “everywhere” on the grounds. It was highly likely that you’d catch a glimpse of a peacock showing off its spread out feathers in hopes to attract you (lol) and a potential mate! -
Mariachi Festival
On a cool, Saturday evening, a Mariachi Festival was held. I initially planned on staying for only an hour or two but ended up staying for much longer. Fortunately, it wasn’t as cold as I thought it’d be. Being under a tent, surrounded by many attendees was helpful to keep the cold weather at bay. Of course, there was the occasional breeze that would come through now and then but it was rare and bearable. -
Lightscape before Dark
Have you ever wondered what those flashy light events at night look like during the day? Well, I’ve got you covered. I had the opportunity to visit Lightscape at The Arboretum before dark and let’s just say it was interesting.

Tet Festival in Fountain Valley
Lunar New Year festivities may be over but I can still recall the wonderful time I had at the first Lunar New Year event I attended in the year of the cat (rabbit). Of all the Lunar New Year festivals I’ve attended thus far in Southern California, this was the best one I’ve attended. I realize that it’s been a long time since I last went to any festival but I can assure you that I’m not being biased in any way here. If you ever ponder between attending the Tet Festival in Costa Mesa versus the one in Fountain Valley, opt for the one in Fountain Valley. For starters, there is no admission fee to Fountain Valley’s Tet Festival.

Villa Park Lunar New Year Celebration
I’m going to be honest and say that the Villa Park Lunar New Year Celebration was a relatively boring event. I was actually quite close to leaving early on in the festival but decided to stay around. I realize that it was a free event, but it doesn’t change the fact that it was a pretty boring event.
