    The Forgotten Shrine in Matsushiro

Peace, tranquility and alone time. These are the things I want right now. As much as I’d love to get up and fly to a remote island, I just can’t do that right now. Okay, so if a colleague of mine’s can go to England, I suppose I can go somewhere, but would I? I wouldn’t. For as long as the coronavirus exists, I will not have the nerve to risk myself and others to the coronavirus for the sake of having a so-called good time. I think it’s selfish, yet at the same time, I understand why people have this desire to get away. It’s a coping mechanism from the craziness that revolves around covid. Either that or they’re just in denial that covid exists and feel entitled to enjoying life as they please.

    Drinking in Japan

I last blogged about the quick bites I’d get from Japanese convenience stores and vending machines. This time around, I’ll be sharing the drinks I purchased in Japan.

The drinks offered in Japanese vending machines are truly something that American vending machines would be envious of. The selection is quite diverse and almost always has something you want to quench your thirst with. Perhaps these drinks are rather common to the average Japanese native, but to an American, any offering that goes beyond bottled water, sodas and the occasional OJ is a relief.

    Quick Eats in Japan

First time visitors to Japan seem to marvel at the country’s many vending machines and convenience stores. While I don’t think I ever got excited over their vending machines and convenience stores, I appreciated their existence. If you’re anything like me when you travel, when you’re on the go, you just want to grab something, pay for it and be done with it.

    Takeshita Street

I’m sorry but I don’t understand the thrill of Takeshita Street. It’s just a walkway with bubble gum pink shops and bubble gum pink eateries. Nothing extraordinary here but at the same time, I can see how it can appeal to people, especially young people.

    Fukushuen

Having been to a number of East Asian gardens, Fukushuen or Fuzhou Garden of Naha, Okinawa appeared less impressive to me than it actually was.
