Peacocks, Lizards and Coyotes, oh my!

It’s been a while since I last posted something travel related. (Although I’ve been posting, most of the posts fall into a different category.) So, I’m hoping today’s post will be a bit of a treat!

Not long ago, I had the opportunity to visit the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden in Arcadia, CA.

It was at this arboretum that I encountered my two firsts. My first first: seeing a peacock in real life as well as hearing it speak for the first time. Second first: encountering a coyote alone. Yes, I really did encounter a coyote… More on it in a bit.

So, it’s safe to say this arboretum is known for its peacocks. These birds are beautiful but they’re loud.

    Goodies from EVA Air

    EVA Air amenity kit

A family member of mine recently gifted a brand new amenity kit from EVA Air’s premium economy cabin to me. It may seem a tad bit awkward and even insulting to a certain extent to be gifted such a thing but I love freebie gifts like this and this family member knew this. (Note to future bf/husband/friends/etc: do not assume that I’ll be ok with freebie gifts. If you’re not cautious, I’ll find it insulting…)

In general, I am a fan of anything travel related and what says travel more than an unopened, brand new and heavily radiated amenity kit? Hm…lol.

    Hot country. Hot boys. Eels?

    Unagi Pie event in Thailand
Central Plaza Ladprao (Bangkok, Thailand) had an unagi pie event, where attendees had the chance to meet and greet 3 Thai male celebrities on 3/23 and 3/25. (As if one male celebrity wasn’t enough, right? lol) The three celebrities were Boy Pakorn, Nong and Pat.
I want to say that I was present at this event however the truth is that it wasn’t me that was present, it was my mom. I kid you not on this.

    Kangnam, the restaurant

Kang Nam Restaurant in Ktown, Los Angeles
Kang Nam Restaurant in Ktown, Los Angeles
Not long ago, I had the opportunity to eat at Kang Nam Restaurant. The restaurant is located on the western side (not exactly the “happening” side) of Los Angeles’ Koreatown. The joint has its own parking lot (free) right across from the restaurant and a valet parking area behind the restaurant for $2.

I of course didn’t pay for valet as 1) I’m too much of a cheapskate to pay for such a novelty/privilege and 2) I managed to get a parking spot in the restaurant’s non-valet lot.

Chinatown: Golden Dragon Parade and Frank Romero’s Art

    Los Angeles Chinatown

Los Angeles’ Chinatown had it’s 118th annual golden dragon parade on February 4th. I had the opportunity to attend it for the first time and all I can say is that it was okay.

For the parade to be the 118th one, I was expecting something a little more spectacular but it really was just ok.It didn’t help much either that the parade didn’t start on time. In a way, this was a good thing since it gave me time to purchase food and find an ideal spot to view the parade.
