    Among Greenery

It’s been uncomfortably hot lately and I know it’s only going to get hotter as it gets closer and closer to summer. Fortunately, it seems like we’re going to get some respite for a week or so with cooler weather. The issue, present already, whether it be hot or cool are the mosquitoes.

    Peacock Day at the Arboretum

Peacock Day at the Los Angeles County Arboretum felt like Spring. It was sunny and the peacocks were “everywhere” on the grounds. It was highly likely that you’d catch a glimpse of a peacock showing off its spread out feathers in hopes to attract you (lol) and a potential mate!

    Lightscape before Dark

    Lightscape

Have you ever wondered what those flashy light events at night look like during the day? Well, I’ve got you covered. I had the opportunity to visit Lightscape at The Arboretum before dark and let’s just say it was interesting.

    Moonlight Forest

Spending money to attend Moonlight Forest at the Los Angeles County Arboretum was so worth it. Having been to the Los Angeles County Arboretum before, it was quite the experience to see the grounds transformed into something else. If you think you’ll be able to catch glimpses of the grounds during Moonlight Forest, think again. The most you will be able to catch a glimpse of is the somewhat eerie yet beautiful Victorian home when viewing the dragon from afar.

Peacocks, Lizards and Coyotes, oh my!

It’s been a while since I last posted something travel related. (Although I’ve been posting, most of the posts fall into a different category.) So, I’m hoping today’s post will be a bit of a treat!

Not long ago, I had the opportunity to visit the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden in Arcadia, CA.

It was at this arboretum that I encountered my two firsts. My first first: seeing a peacock in real life as well as hearing it speak for the first time. Second first: encountering a coyote alone. Yes, I really did encounter a coyote… More on it in a bit.

So, it’s safe to say this arboretum is known for its peacocks. These birds are beautiful but they’re loud.
